Panels Unveiled: Coming Up at Moseley Barcamp

June 17, 2009

You’ve waited long enough. We’re bringing both wonderful new blood and familiar faces to The Cross for our upcoming event on 28th June. Here’s who’s due to be talking, working the floor and being heckled at Moseley Barcamp (in no particular order):

  • Neil Houston Community – Keeping the Peace
  • Chris Unitt The Little Blog That Could
  • Pete Ashton Coworking and Relation to Internet Culture (Or, to quote Pete, ‘ something along those lines’).
  • Tom Martin Why Your Blog is Slow
  • Matt Murtagh & Emma Jones Using Social Media and the Web for Gathering Support for a Campaigning Organisation
  • Jon Bounds Blogging is to Psychogeography as Canvas is to Oil Painting
  • Multipack Birmingham’s Web Credibility
  • Mark Steadman The Forgotten Joys of Building: Making Original Web Apps From Scratch
  • Sam Coley Radio MA
  • Charlie Pinder Innovation – looking at some of the theories and practices behind innovation and seeing what works in Real Life, whether it’s a software organisation, freelance coder, community organisation, or someone looking to hack their brain.
  • Donato Esposito My 4am Experience
  • Nikki Pugh BARG Game
  • Nick Booth Help Me Investigate
  • Michael Grimes Mike’s a dark horse. We poked him with a spoon several times, but he’s playing his cards close to his chest. His talk’s a surprise. Shhh.
  • Andy Mabbett Let’s Play Tag: recent developments and emerging issues in the use of tagging for added semantic richness

There’s also the possibility of a couple of other sneakies being slotted in, time allowing….

He rocked the graphics tablet at WxWM 2 like it had never been rocked before…. and he’s back to capture the Barcamp Beauties: live cartooning Alex Hughes!

Nom Nom Nom

We emailed everyone who’d registered to date last week about whether they would require meaty or veggie food, as we’re hoping to feed you! Responses have been fab, but there are still 34 of you are yet to respond – and 34 of you will go hungry or have to fend for yourselves if we’ve no response by Friday 5pm. Email us or leave a comment to denote your preference, please. Thanks for your co-operation! Anyone who’s registered within the past week will already have had the option to specify their preference so don’t need to inform us again.

Early Doors

The event will kick off officially at 3.30pm on 28th June, but doors open at 3pm so come down early, grab a beer and bag a seat ready for the off!

Not yet registered?

There’s still time to register! Go to and do it!
